Untarnishing marks a significant new chapter for banríon. Beginning in 2020 as a DIY indie-rock band, banríon quickly made their mark on the Dublin music scene with two acclaimed EP’s, landing support slots with NewDad, Lime Garden and Pillow Queens alongside performances at festivals such as All Together Now and Other Voices.

Untarnishing is a departure from a ‘blazing indie rock’ sound (as described by Hot Press), to turn a gentler cheek. This softer sound was in part inspired by songwriting workshops with Adrianne Lenker and Florist, as well as the transition from a band to a solo project. The album is a sonic and lyrical mix that reveals banríon’s musical range and evolution.
